Steelers-Jaguars seats cheapest playoff ticket of weekend
Fans looking to get the Steelers playoff experience can still find relative bargains for Sunday’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And they are doing so, and many are traveling up from Florida, according to ticket resale online hub TickPick LLC.
TickPick had more than 2,600 tickets available for the game Friday morning (about 400 less than Thursday afternoon), with an average ticket price of $232.62, lowest among the four NFL playoff games being played on Saturday and Sunday.
Among the tickets being sold, TickPick said 13.4 percent of the tickets for the Steelers game were being sold in Florida, meaning many Jacksonville fans are making the trip to Pittsburgh for the game or many Steelers snowbirds are coming home to root on their team. Probably, a little of each. Those travelers — and Pittsburghers who enjoyed a rare 60 degree day in January on Thursday — will be in for a bit of a shock. Weather is expected to be below 20 degrees at kickoff.
Jack Slingland, director of client services for TickPick, said a number of factors go into the end price on the resale market.
“The matchup is going to play a factor. Even though Jacksonville had a good year, if it was Steelers-Patriots or Steelers-Ravens, you would see higher ticket prices,” Slingland said. “Jacksonville is a team with one of the smaller fan bases in a smaller market.”

The most expensive game on the docket for resale tickets is the Saturday tilt featuring the Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles, at $275.75. Philadelphia has not made the playoffs since 2013, when they lost at home in the wildcard round to the New Orleans Saints. About 1,600 tickets were available on TickPick for the Eagles-Falcons game.
The Tennessee Titans at the New England Patriots, being played on Saturday, has an average resale ticket price of $267.87. This is the first Patriots’ playoff game since the 2015 wildcard game against the Baltimore Ravens to have average ticket prices below $300. That game, won by the Patriots on the way to winning the Super Bowl, had average ticket prices of $230. Less than 800 tickets were listed for this game on TickPick.

“With the potential matchup with the Steelers in the championship round, if you can only afford one game, you’ll probably pick the Steelers game over one where they are favored by two touchdowns,” Slingland said.
Tickets for Sunday’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis are averaging $254.52, though Slingland said the asking price for the Saints-Vikings game is the highest among the four games at $515 and that there are still many tickets available. About 600 tickets to this game sold between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, leaving about 2,300 400tickets listed on TickPick Friday morning.
